You will have significant experiences.
I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of
them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh
your memory of these meaningful and significant things.
Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you.
Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some
may build upon another until they represent a lifetime of
special experiences.

Transport to LA...

 Monday, December 7, 2009

Dear Family and Friends,

As I write this email, Everett is being prepared for transport to Children's Hospital in Los Angeles.  Over the past few days he has had several tests to evaluate his large abdomen and lack of bowel movements.  At 3pm today, it was determined by the SV NICU doctors that he has a complete bowel obstruction in his jejunum (small intestine).  This means that nothing can move through his bowels beyond this point.  In order to fix the blockage, he needs surgery, which SV cannot perform.

I'd go more into detail if I had more time but we are packing as I write.  Please pray for our boy.  Please keep up those good thoughts.  He needs them now more than ever.  I will try to keep everyone updated as best I can.  From what the nurses have told us, he might not come back to SV for a month, maybe longer.  We are scared but courageous...because Everett has such courage and strength to thrive.  We love you all!  Thanks for all your support!
